Project 365 – day 69

I just came home from the grocery store at 10:00 tonight.  If I hadn’t gone, I would have been feeding Carrie this for the next several days.    It’s yummy and all but not for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

So I spent a bit of time digging through my recipe notebook to see what I had hanging around.  I decided on Chicken Carbonara, burgers on the grill and Pioneer Woman’s Most Favorite Salad Ever. Ever, Ever, Ever! because it just wouldn’t be any fun if we didn’t make at least one of Ree’s recipes; although, truth be told, I would prefer it be the The Best Chocolate Sheet Cake. Ever., but my thighs will hate me on Monday.

Yeah okay.  More than they do today.

So what are your favorite recipes when you are having guests?  Do you have any winners you’d like to share?

One of these days I’m going to get real ambitious and type up all my favorites to post here.

Probably right after I get back from my trip on the space shuttle.

Beautiful photo but it looks a little too healthy for me. Enjoy your company!

My families all-time favorite, like they would eat if every night, besides s’getti, is chili. Even the baby. It’s easy, I’m no gourmet, you don’t even have to write it down: 1 can of pinto beans, 1 can of black beans, 1 can of mild Rotel, 1 lb ground turkey/beef, salt & pepper and a little taco seasoning (you can make it hot or hotter here). Mix it all, let it simmer, dump fritos, taco chips, flour tortillas, whatever, in the bottom, cover with chili, add a little cheese. YUM! It’s what’s for dinner.
