The Party’s Over…Sniff, Sniff

April 29, 2008

Project 365 – Day 74

Sadly I dropped off my dear friend at the airport today and as my mother used to say, “All good things must come to an end,” which stinks in my opinion, but what can you do, other than kidnapping and I’m not into that sort of thing.

We made a lot of great memories over the last few days and I have been truly blessed by Carrie’s visit to my otherwise dull household.

For once I was a child again, acting giddy and silly, those things that sometimes get lost in the sea of responsibilities we as parents bear.  But not this weekend.  Oh no.  This weekend was all about the fun and if we weren’t so dad gum tired all the time, we would have really raised the roof.  We might have caused a disturbance.

Well we could have.

And let me tell you, Carrie was so excited to see the ocean, she thought she would eat some of it for lunch.   She offered to share, but I told her I wasn’t really into seaweed straight up like that.

One might think Bella was dancing over the ocean, but she was really dancing because Carrie was with us.  Bella just kind of stared at Carrie for the first couple of days.  I think Carrie was getting a little wigged out by it, but what can one do?

So if you ever get the chance to meet someone you met online, don’t chicken out, you could make a great friendship that will span a lifetime.

Sweet Hallie, sorry the party had to come to an end…but really the party is never over. What a great experience for both you and Carrie…rock on!

Just in case anyone is wondering what in tarnation I was doing on that trampoline, rest assured, it was a mad front flip. Not some weird fall on my face move.

That is so neat. I’m inspired that you did this. I’ve wondered if I will ever have the guts. I have met ‘someone’ too. We formed a friendship via blogs and then I found out she’s been battling cancer for the last 1.5 years. I really want to give her a hug.

Aww, that’s so sweet! I love your photos. I love that you two got together. It’s just a wonderful, heart-warming kind of thing. Even though I lived it vicariously. LOL! :D

I have met some incredible women blogging. You are making me want to put together some sort of retreat to meet them. I LOVE this idea and I’m glad you shared the experience!
