I went to the Scott Kelby workshop today and it was the best $99.00 I have ever spent. Aside from the fact that I actually sat with adults all day, I learned more than I could possibly digest in seven hours. Good thing there is a book to review. And If you ever have the chance to go to a Scott Kelby workshop, for heaven sakes don’t miss it!
So below is my first attempt at applying what I learned today. What do you think?

Wow! What an amazing before and after!! What version of Photo Shop do you use? I’m trying to decide between spending money on Lightroom and upgrading to the grown-up version of Photoshop from Elements…hmmm…
that doesn’t happen to be by the ocean does it? I think I see it back there…
from what you’ve done with your header i thought you knew everything about photoshop. it sure sounds like fun and i love what you did with the photo.
oh and now you should tell us exactly what you did.
Do the words “jealous wreck” or “green with envy” mean anything to you? I have one of his books sitting here on my desk, waiting to be read. I looked on the site before and I thought those workshops cost a lot more. I need to look again, because I would totally pay $99 for that.
Hey! That after picture looks really good. My daughter would enjoy a workshop like that.
Abiding in the Vine!
I’m with Dawn: SO jealous!
Beautiful photo. What a great job you did with photoshop! It’s just amazing the difference. The first picture is still beautiful (you caught the PERFECT moment!) but with the photoshop edits? WOW!
Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Wow, Hallie! That’s amazing. I’m with Dawn – green with envy, I believe. How fun to have attended a class. Looking forward to seeing more results!
wow! That is amazing!!!!
First of all, you have a very lovely model! Next is, you did a very good job!!! Happy WW!
Wow! Waht you can do with Photoshop. Actually it’s scary!
Happy WW!
What a beautiful shot! The colors are so vibrant – as is your young subject!
Fantastic!
Wow… That’s amazing and fascinating, not just because of the vibrancy of the colors, but because it creates depth that makes your beautiful subject really stand out. Way cool.
Wow, amazing before and after! Beautiful picture!
Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Great job! You need to give us step by step instructions! I’ve got one of his books in my cart at Amazon. Guess I need to go ahead and place that order!
Happy Wordless Wednesday.
Check out my entry if you get a chance at Just Some Thoughts
Wow. That’s amazing. Happy WW!
wow! that’s what i call magic!
happy WW!
Wonderfully done. he looks more alive & her colors are more vivid like her smile. Happy WW.
Very nice. Yes post processing is good to know…I use its magic quite often.
That’s an amazing difference, Hallie.
I hope things are going better with your mum, or at least that the break helped.
Thinking of you,
Jane
Hi Hallie
Amazing~I have no clue how to…but the class seems to have given you new skills. Great photo of Wee Bella.

I love what you did with the picture. I’ll have to see if they have a class like that in my area. Thanks for the tip.
Looks great Hallie. I am hopeless with Photoshop. I seriously need you to move to PA and take our product photos and the Bahamas to be our personal photographer. Coudl you stand 6 months in each?
That is incredible! I really want Photoshop.
Love the photos. Love your Header. Love your headshot!
That is an amazing difference.
Oh my gosh. That is amazing! You are incredible.
That is so cool.
One of the best AFTERS I’ve seen. So many that I’ve seen – the afters just don’t seem to be worth the effort. (perhaps I just don’t have the eye for it)
Your picture is a magazine spread quality.
Beautiful child, too. That helps!
That is awesome! I am so jealous!!
You did a great job.
Was the class hands on? Did they provide a pc to use?
Happy WW!
WOW I really need to learn how to use a photo program! That is quite a difference.
Great work! I would love to learn some photoshop… count me in with the jealous crew!!
Your newly acquired imaging skills have really set you free. Your corrected photo conveys the beauty and energy of your little girl so much better!
Once again, you amaze me with your photo skills!
It’s amazing what you can obtain and learn in such a short time.
Congrats with the result
Wow I wish I knew how to do that! Fantastic work.
I really need that class. Oh wait, I need a camera first!
Great shot and colors!
To answer the question about the class, they did not provide a PC. The class size was 500 or so and it was done with two huge screens that allowed you to view Scott Kelby working on his Mac.
Great job! I took his class last spring, it was AWESOME! I wanted to go again this year but he off somewhere else! LOL! It is worth every penny!

Hi Hallie
I’m so with the rest of the commenters… You’re going to have to share how you did that. Or we might have to leave nagging comments everyday for tips until you do! haha.
I can’t believe the difference! Your photos are always so amazing though!
