The Peony

June 5, 2008

This was covered with ants.  I’m surprised I avoided them in this shot.

    Lovely close-up. I like how you can see such detail in the petals. Amazing that you got it with no ants, too. My neighbor had peonies and there always TONS of ants on them. Although I understand that they’re actually beneficial to the flowers. :D

    Hi Hallie;

    Is this a peony? The ants pollinate the peonies, never remove the ants or your peonies will remained shut and will rot.

    Pretty shot.

    Wow Hallie! That is a GORGEOUS shot. It almost looks like a bowl of strawberry ice-cream. Yummy. You have a great eye for detail. And it’d be great if you started sharing some of your before and after photoshop tricks! I’d love to learn from you!

    I love peonies!

    My daughter is absolutely fascinated with the ants on our peony bushes.

    Great shot!
