I was excited for today to come quickly so Sarah and I could go to Brimfield. Hands down, this is probably the most fun I have all year.
If you have never heard of Brimfield; it is said to be the largest antiques show in the country and it’s held in Brimfield, Ma., a mere 45 minutes from me! Brimfield boasts about 5000 vendors, (or so I’m told,) and spans more than a mile down Rt. 20. Fields and fields of every imaginable and unimaginable item! Color, texture, and history; Brimfield has it all. Really, if you have never been and get the chance, don’t miss it. It is open every summer, for one week in May, July, and September.
Today I was specifically looking for a old farm chair. Preferably something with character, peeling paint and a nice bright color, but I didn’t find what I had envisioned. Then at the last moment and after a good does of prayer, I happened upon the two chairs at the bottom of the page. Not exactly what I had wanted, but with some paint and new fabric, they will be perfect! And two chairs for $20.00 bucks didn’t hurt either!

Gorgeous pictures and WOW, that is a fantastic deal on those chairs!!!
We have a giganto market like that in Canton, TX. I haven’t been in forever… now I’m thinking it might be time to go. But I think I’ll wait until fall when the weather is cooler!

What stunning photos. So many colors and materials. I especially like all the tilted photos. Whenever I try a shot like that it just comes out looking lopsided but yours look fantastic.
How amazing would a mixed set of those dishes be too…

Oh man, I was just telling my kids about the Annual Brimfield Flea Market. We lived in Palmer, and there were mini flea markets all the way to Brimfield. That is one of the things I miss most about N.E. I love your pictures. I think you captured the spirit of the event. Thanks for the walk down memory lane for me.

Oh my gosh I am SO jealous!! We have the Rose Bowl and Long Beach Flea markets here monthly but they are NOTHING like that!! AND the vendors practically charge full-value in many cases. Not as fun and colorful – how I long to be on the East coast some days!

Looks like you enjoyed the “Brimfield experience” I’m a dealer and 20 year veteran of the shows. I’ve been to The Paris fleas, the massive shows at Newark & Swinderby in England and many others. There is nothing like Brimfield anywhere in the world. I set up across from the tile girls whose booth you showed above. They are writing a book about them. Stop by and say hello. Please visit my new website at http://www.AntiquesNut.com By the way I have some ads on there which lead you to my http://www.EuropeAntiqueTrip.com website. If you can get away next winter, join us antiquing in Europe. See You!! JOE
