I am not a cat person.
At all.
So can someone tell me what I am doing with this?

Sucker I tell ya.
I am highly allergic to this little guy; sneezing, itching and small hives. I was hoping my allergies had diminished over the years, but apparently not.
Oh and did I mention asthma?
So does anyone have any ideas for me, so I don’t have to break my kids hearts and get rid of little Benny?

Bahama Mama says:
We are major cat people Hallie but I don’t think you can do much if you are allergic. My brother-in-law can’t even visit us in the Bahamas because of his allergies. One thing - little Benny won’t be so little for very much longer - have you seen the size of his PAWS? He is a gorgeous cat.

He is adorable!! There is a medicine you can get to put on the cats food (ask your vet), that is supposed to somehow made the dander less, so that your body doesn’t react so terribly. Again, ask your vet about it. Good luck! He’s too cute!

Sorry, I’m no help. My Sarah has the same exact allergies to cats, as much as she loves them. So we did have to break her heart and get rid of it. We tried 4 different cats, 4 different times. After the 4th we said we were done. I hope things work out for you.

Get rid of the cat and get a dog. Why be miserable? They like the cat today, tomorrow they’ll be busy with their friends and you’ll still be itching and sneezing. Hope it works out.

My sister found out that if you clean/vacuum your curtains and drapes regularly, it will help. Apparently, their dander can hang out there a lot - particularly because they’re not cleaned as often. Also, brush the cat and vacuum often. IDK if any of that will help, but that’s what I have to offer. He sure is a cutie!

i am soooo allergic to kitties too… but i can’t bear to get rid of the two i have. i can deal with the allergies fairly well by keeping them out of my bedroom and not touching them. if i ever do touch them, i have to wash my hands very very thoroughly… and not touch anything else before i do.
i hope you find a way to get around them
allergies are a bummer!

We have four cats and I too have major allergies and asthma. I can’t bear to get rid of them. I have had them since graduating college. I have found that if you keep them out of your bedroom and invest in air purifiers it really helps.

I have a friend with the same allergy to cats. She takes Allegra D so her son can keep him.
Hope that helps. Great blog. I’m so sorry to hear about your friends’ son. My heart hurts for them and you and all that everyone must be feeling today, tomorrow, and many days to come.
