MacGyver Does the Carnival

August 10, 2008

365/180

Tim invited Belle and me to a carnival and of course I said yes.  Photo ops you know.

I could just smell the fried dough and visualize the cotton candy and shelling out a pocket full of money that should be reserved for the dental bill to follow.

Well, fortunately for us, we didn’t last long enough to incur a dental bill.

We enjoyed about five rides and a few shots…..

er…uh….snap shots, not liquor.

And then there was pee.

In the pants.

No.  Not my pants, just in case you might have been thinking one of these weanie rides did me in.

Too bad she didn’t tell one of use she had to go.  Tim is like MacGyver.  Who else would travel with this in the back of the car?  Pretty nifty huh?

Yes, we’re rednecks, just in case you had any doubt.

The Girl in Red

We laughed.

We smiled.

We danced.

We held hands.

We cleaned goose poop off her boot.

Yep.  That pretty much covers it.

Where’s Gidget?

I wish I had longer than five minutes to post this because I’m sure I could have done something really cool with the photo of this vintage ride.

A Feast for Your Eyes! Brimfield 2008!

July 10, 2008

365/149

I was excited for today to come quickly so Sarah and I could go to Brimfield.  Hands down, this is probably the most fun I have all year.

If you have never heard of Brimfield; it is said to be the largest antiques show in the country and it’s held in Brimfield, Ma., a mere 45 minutes from me!  Brimfield boasts about 5000 vendors, (or so I’m told,) and spans more than a mile down Rt. 20.  Fields and fields of every imaginable and unimaginable item!  Color, texture, and history; Brimfield has it all.  Really, if you have never been and get the chance, don’t miss it.  It is open every summer, for one week in May, July, and September.

Today I was specifically looking for a old farm chair.  Preferably something with character, peeling paint and a nice bright color, but I didn’t find what I had envisioned.  Then at the last moment and after a good does of prayer, I happened upon the two chairs at the bottom of the page.  Not exactly what I had wanted, but with some paint and new fabric, they will be perfect!  And two chairs for $20.00 bucks didn’t hurt either!
