Looks to me like Ezekiel’s ‘dry bones’!

*giggle* I don’t know… it might, you know. Why would they go to the trouble of disconnecting its water supply? Seems like it would be easier just to leave it. I love the vibrancy of your photos. Is this how it appeared straight from your camera, or do you do some Photoshop manipulation? We haven’t gotten that far in your TTL class yet. *headdesk* I haven’t even read my manual yet. I’m such a procrastinator. Why’d you give us all the way to July 4th?!

    Happy WW!

Wow, what a cool photo! It probably does work, if you can get around all the rust ;)

  4. HRH says:

My bet is NO! But fun photo…

  5. carrie says:

where in the world did you find that??

  6. Ummm… not sure it works for its intended use, but it sure works for the photo.

Entropy! I love this photo. Is this for real? What a great find. I pass places with degraded buildings and overgrown weeds and it takes everything in my power to keep driving. If I stopped, a two-hour drive would take six hours. :)

  8. Dianne says:

Lovely shot. Amazing it doesn’t just crumble away. :D

  9. I don’t know if it works but the shot is great.

  10. Raven says:

What a wonderful photo. Does look quite past it’s prime but it has it’s own kind of beauty. A kind of think if you painted a face on it, it would look like a little person standing there. Delightful photo.

  11. jamie says:

neat! You might be surprised! :)

  12. Tiany says:

    Lovely shot!

  13. Will says:

There must be a story there! It almost looks made of wood it is so old.

  14. clarence says:

It looks pretty well worn, it might not work, but it makes for a great photo! :)

  15. I had to look a few times it looked like wood or a mushroom… like a fairy hydrant.

  16. Adam says:

  19. Gayle says:

Like smarmoofus I am Queen of Procrastination. And to think the manuel I have been carrying around for the last 3-4 months has now disappeared. Tomorrow will be a frantic rush to look for it and read it. Is this hydrant close by? Just curious what the date and city is on it? I have an old one my husband brought me to repaint and put in the dog yard (of course)…it’s like 20+ years old and the city has escaped me at this moment, but when I finish it I will blog it. Just curious…cool photo.

It works for me! I probably have more of an affinity for “old stuff” than I should. It may not do what it used to, but it almost always makes an interesting photo.
